The Center for Safe Internet Pharmacies (CSIP) is proud to be a sponsor, along with its partners Google and Microsoft, of an upcoming advanced screening of the short-film documentary Breaking Points. This film is produced by the Partnership for Drug Free Kids and directed by Tucker Capps. The event will be held on Thursday April 21, 2016 at the Google Fiber Space in Austin, TX.

Registration is now available for this free event, and the doors open for a reception beginning at 5:30 PM. The event starts at 6:00 PM with panel introductions, the 30-minute documentary screening and a question and answer session with the expert panelists.

The challenge of juggling school, work, sports, activities, college, friends and social networks leaves teens at the risk of exhaustion and stress-overload. With this stress, comes the risk of the adoption of unhealthy coping skills – including abusing prescription medications.

The film includes conversations with students and experts focusing on the dangers of using prescription stimulants and other medications without a doctor’s prescription. It also gives insight into how parents and communities can address this issue and helps teens manage stress.

The documentary is part of the Partnership’s national action campaign, Medicine Abuse Project, which has the goal of “preventing a half-million kids from abusing medicine.”
